It doesn’t frustrate me at all when people don’t like a thing, whether that’s about personal preference or about finding the thing sketchy in terms of portrayals or morals or message or implications or whatever.

It bothers the everloving fuck out of me when people attack the fans of the thing. Lots of people love problematic things… or things that are just plain bad. “So bad it’s good” is a thing. So is “I’m going to the special hell.”

Personally, I’m pretty much convinced I’m going to the special hell, and I’m going to enjoy every minute of the trip~

And people who attack the things I like can fuck off.

Not that I usually get attacked for it - probably because I’ve posted several times welcoming anon hate - but it really pisses me off when they attack people who already have low self-esteem, or have other issues, or whatever. And for some reason, those are always the people targeted.

I love the commentary.  It fits so well with one of my views of Starscream.  That of him being an honest to gods psychopath.  He doesn’t live quite in the same reality as everyone else, and has tendencies toward being a sociopath and a sado-masochist (not as in in the kink— as in the pathology of a person unable (and possibly unwilling) to restrain himself from engaging in destructive and self-destructive behaviors). 

As you say—Starscream isn’t asking for forgiveness, he’s asking if Skywarp is still mad, and GRINNING like the idea of Skyward being upset all this time later is the most delicious thing he can think of.  He’s made such an IMPACT that he’s remembered through a complete overhaul and re-writing that should, by rights, have left Cyclonus with no memory of Starscream at all.

Yes, exactly. Starscream’s biggest desire is to make an impact, to be remembered, to have influence. He really doesn’t care what Skywarp/Cyclonus may have gone through, just if he remembers.

I also think that Starscream is verging on psychopathic - I waiver back and forth on if he is a full psychopath just because he doesn’t meet all the markers, he’s too emotional… but this picture is wonderful and disturbing for all the reasons you list.
